NIC Asia Bank CEO honored with ‘Manager of the Year Award – 2022’

Kathmandu. Roshan Kumar Neupane, Chief Executive Officer of NIC Asia Bank, has been awarded the ‘Manager of the Year Award – 2022’ by the Nepal Management Association (MAN), a respected and supreme body of management personnel, in recognition of his contribution to the management sector and exemplary leadership skills.

The award was presented to Neupane at a ceremony organized on Chaitra 26, 2078 by the Nepal Management Association at Yak & Yeti Hotel, Kathmandu 

Addressing the award ceremony, Neupane, the winner of ‘Manager of the Year Award-2022’, dedicated the award to all the Fellow NICASIANs and expressed his gratitude to MAN officials and award selection committee for the recognition.

During his five-year leadership, the bank’s total lending has quadrupled from about Rs 73 billion to Rs 274 billion.

Similarly, deposit has also increased approximately four times from Rs 86 billion to Rs 300 billion. At the same time, the bank’s earnings per share has doubled to 41.43.

Under his leadership, the Bank has been able to become the best in the overall banking sector by achieving the following encouraging results by mid-January 2078 BS.

With Historic achievements in Nepal’s financial history in the mentioned indicators, the bank has been ranked among the best and in a short period of its leadership, it has established a branch network with more than 3.6 million customers across the country. Under his leadership, the bank has succeeded in establishing the relationship of easy, strong, dynamic, reliable and accountable banking through modern digital channels and as the best bank in the country in various major financial and non-financial indices.

Likewise,  with the support and encouragement of all esteemed customers, shareholders and stakeholders, the Chief Executive Officer has been awarded the ‘Manager of the Year Award – 2022 ‘. The honor has made the entire bank family proud, including the Board of Directors, DNA Oversight Committee as stated by the bank.

He has also been honored by the Rt. Honorable President with ‘Prabal Janasewa Shree (Chaturtha), ‘Corporate CEO of the Year, 2078’ and ‘Banking CEO of the Year – Nepal 2021’ from Global Business Outlook (GBO) London AF6.

Due to the deep trust, deep affection and trust of the general public towards the bank, the bank has become the largest branch network in the country providing banking services through 358 branch offices, 473 ATMs, 101 extended counters and 81 branch less banking service across the country.

Out of the total population of the country, the bank has succeeded in providing services to about 25 percent of the economically active population in the age group of 20 to 50 years.

The bank, which has been practicing accountable banking, has paid more than Rs 3.16 billion in direct and indirect revenue to the Government of Nepal in the last fiscal year.

It is the second largest commercial bank in the country and the sixth largest contributor compared to other banks in the country as a whole. The bank has also been operating in remote disticts like Mugu, Kaikot, Bajhang, Rukum, Jumla, & Salyan with low presence of other financial institutions and in more than 34 local bodies where no bank or financial institution has reached.

The bank has set up 72 percent of its branch offices in rural and small urban areas, where more than 80 percent of the country’s population lives.
