Kathmandu . The Nepali Congress former president Sher Bahadur Deuba faction has said that they cannot agree with the decision made by the party’s establishment faction without putting on hold the convention schedule. NP Saud, a leader of the Deuba group, said that a discussion of the group’s top leaders this morning concluded that they could not agree with the party establishment side’s decision.

The party’s establishment side had called a central executive committee meeting on Sunday and decided to make arrangements, as per the party statute, for all central committee members elected from the 14th general convention to participate in the convention as current central committee members.

According to General Secretary Pradeep Paudel, the decision was made to continuously take initiatives to address disagreements and concerns through dialogue and consensus so that no one is left out in the convention. Earlier, the former President Deuba group had organized a three-day national convention starting from August 14.

After that convention, the non-establishment faction decided to hold a separate 15th general convention of the party from coming December 7 to 9 in Kathmandu. The establishment faction had already decided to hold the party’s 15th general convention in Kathmandu from October 2 to 5. Even though both sides have decided to hold separate 15th general conventions, according to them, they are still maintaining efforts for consensus and unity.
