Students from eight community and institutional schools at Gaindakot Municipality in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Sustapurba) receive training on digital peace building

Students from eight community and institutional schools at Gaindakot Municipality in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Sustapurba) have received a training on digital peace building.
The students were given training on applying precautions while browsing internet, according to trainer and journalist Krishna Sapkota.
Sapkota said that the students were imparted knowledge on different issues that have taken place lately with the misuse of internet.
In the training, the students were informed about fake news, misinformation, privacy, hate speech, online child abuse, cyber bullying, online fraud and other related aspects.
Likewise, trainer of Governance International Nepal (GIN) Sanjeev Ghimire said that the society should be aware to the use of internet since everyone has become a part of the digital world willingly or unwillingly.
“Everyone’s access has increased to online business, online banking system, social networking sites, e-commerce and e-payment. Everyone has accessibility to the digital world. But, people have been pushed to different troubles for its misuse,” Ghimire viewed.
Participants at the event were 60 students from grade eight to twelve and seven teachers teaching Social Studies.
Head Teacher of Vijaya Samudayik Sikshya Sadan Rekha Shrestha said that the training remained fruitful to make students understand about the advantages and disadvantages that people could take through the medium of internet.
The training event was organized on Thursday by GIN in partnership with Vijaya Samudayik Sikshya Sadan and Vijaya Development Resource Centre.
