Kathmandu: Home Minister Balkrishna Khand met with former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal today to discuss a new bill to revise the “Citizenship Act-2006.”

The meeting that took place at Dahal’s home in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, came to a successful conclusion, according to the Secretariat of the Home Minister. It should be mentioned that the ministry registered the measure to amend the citizenship act in the parliament on August 17, 2018. The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee later presented it to the House on June 23, 2020, along with its report. On July 8, the revised document took its place.

The Home Minister extended his political meetings and discussions after the new bill was registered in an effort to create a broad consensus. He had paid a visit to the deputy head of the main opposition CPN (UML), Subash Chandra Nembang, on Sunday night.
