Rabindra Mishra, the president of the Bibeksheel Sajha Party has resigned.
Kathmandu: Mishra announced his resignation as president in a statement on Wednesday, citing a dismal showing in the recent local elections.
“Everyone is aware that Bibeksheel Sajha had a poor showing in the local elections. In a statement, Mishra said, “I accept full responsibility for this and would want to announce my resignation as party chair, effective immediately.” “I intend to stay in the party as a general member.”
In 2017, he joined the Sajha Party, leaving his job as a BBC journalist behind.
“Despite my selfless and honest efforts as the party coordinator and later president for the previous five years, I am resigning effective immediately to accept responsibility for the party’s poor performance in local elections,” Mishra said in a statement released earlier today.
After lengthy debate and assessment, the party’s central executive committee and central committee will decide how to bring the party forward, he added.
