The election results of 26 local units are now pending.
Kathmandu: During the preliminary stage of vote counting in Kathmandu, Election Commission officials showing ballot paper to party supporters inside City Hall was captured.
Only 26 local units have yet to receive the final results of the May 13 local level election.
The results of 26 local levels with a large number of voters, including the metropolises of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Bharatpur, and Birgunj, are still pending.
By 12 p.m. today, the complete results of the vote counting at 727 local levels, comprising 269 municipalities and 458 rural municipalities, had been recorded into the Election Commission’s information system.
The final results for approximately 95% of the total 753 local levels are now available. The final results of the vote counting will be known by May 24, according to the Election Commission.
After the Election Commission makes a ruling, vote counting or re-election will take place in Udayapur’s Triyuga municipality-12 and Bajura’s Budhiganga municipality after a political dispute emerged over voting.
