Kathmandu: Nepal National Cricket team faced a very close loss on Friday’s first match against Papua New Guinea (PNG). The team faced a 6-run defeat despite a graceful knock by Rohit Kumar Paudel. Despite a maiden century from Paudel, the target given by PNG- (292-8) in their first 50 overs innings before the home team reached a 286 runs for 8 wicktets while chasing this record target.

The team simultaneously suffered another loss despite a very good bating display in their first inning of the second One-day International (ODI) match. Nepal was able to give the target of 279 with the loss of 8 wickets, where this time Dipendra Singh Airee had the knock of 105 runs from 140 balls he faced. PNG however was able to reach the target in just 48.4 overs with 8 balls remaining.

Despite a clean swipe from PNG, Nepal can come out from the series with a proper experience and leave the series on a high note in a sense that they gave a tough match against a good African side, and couple of individuals from the national team having great knocks from both bating and bowling sets of players.
