10 types of zoonotic diseases listed

The Ministry of Health and Population has listed 10 types of zoonotic diseases. The first national workshop to prioritise zoonotic diseases organised by the Epidemiology and Disease Division took a decision in this regard.
The listing of zoonotic diseases helps their control and treatment, said the Division Director Dr Krishna Prasad Poudel. The new listed zoonotic diseases include influenza (zoonotic influenza, seasonal influenza), rabies virus, coronavirus, leptospirosis, brucellosis, salmonellosis, leishmaniasis, zoonotic tuberculosis and toxoplasmosis.
