Kathmandu : Lately, the government of Nepal has recently imposed prohibitory order to avoid the covid-19 epidemic . Most of the people who stayed in the city for study or work returned to their hometown within the time given by the government looking for safety. But what about the ignorant creatures (animals) who survived on the streets with the help of the same people ?

They are starving at such times same like during the earthquake, they are struggle a lot. Now that the lockdown has been imposed, Kathmandu Animal Treatment Center (KAT) has become their support. KAT is an animal treatment center located at Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu. KAT provides birth control, vaccinations, animal rescue as well as runs education and awareness programs for the benefits of street animals in Kathmandu and beyond. During the epidemic, the organization has been making arrangements for veterinarians, staff and volunteers to feed the hungry dogs and birds during the epidemic by adopting high vigilance.

The KAT Center has neutered and fed the dogs in Swayambhu area today (Monday). Basu Parajuli, who works in accounting and logistics, informed Lokpath that 14 dogs have been neutered by the KAT.

“A request came from the community of Swayambhu. As it is a tourist area, the population is less, so they asked us for help. In such a situation, it is not possible to find an alternative. We have done this by accepting their request. We have neutered and vaccinated the dogs in the area. This is the main task, but in the second phase we will also be feeding the hungry dogs in the area ” Parajuli said.

The KAT Centre has been feeding the dogs during the epidemic not only in this area but also in the Airport & Gausala area.

“Wherever there are dogs who are suffering , we reach to themas far as we can with our resources,” said Parajuli.
