“By arresting Jhakri, the government exposed the authoritarian character”
Kathmandu : The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has strongly opposed the arrest of central member Ram Kumari Jhakri.
Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said in a statement on Thursday that the arrest had exposed the undemocratic, authoritarian and totalitarian character of the current government.
Mentioning that no person or organization involved in politics in a democracy can be above criticism, the statement said that to see political criticism as a crime against the state is nothing but serious delusion, prejudice and arbitrariness.
The statement condemned the arrest and demanded his immediate and unconditional release.
