Election Commission Prepares tender invitation for upcoming election
Kathmandu : The Election Commission (EC) is preparing to invite tenders for the procurement of necessary materials for the mid-term elections on April 3 and 4.
Co-spokesperson of the commission Komal Prasad Dhamala informed that preparations are being made to invite tenders today. He said that the commission was preparing to hold the election on the date fixed after the dissolution of the House of Representatives and was inviting tenders for the purchase of necessary materials.
The commission has expedited the election preparations as the Supreme Court has not yet ruled on the writ petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives and the dispute within the CPN (Maoist) has not been resolved.
With the dissolution of the House of Representatives, mid-term elections have been announced for April 29 and 30. The government is preparing to hold elections in 40 districts in the first phase on April 3 and in 37 districts in the second phase.
The government has decided to hold elections in 40 districts of Karnali, Lumbini, Province 2, Gandaki on April 3 and in the second phase in 37 districts of Far West, Bagmati and Province 1.
