Fire guts property worth Rs 3.5 million

Kathmandu : Four houses gutted in fire at Sibai Sundarpur of Chaudandi Municipality-5 in the district on Thursday. It caused the loss of property worth over Rs 3.5 million.

Chairperson of Ward No 5 Dev Narayan Chaudhari informed that the fire gulped the houses belonging to local Bhola Chaudhari, Ashok Chaudhari and Dharmendra Chaudhari. The blaze erupted from a cow shed while managing husk, Chairperson added.

Everything- corn, clothes, money and utensils- in the houses turned into ashes.

Superintendent of Police at Udayapur Bhim Prasad Dahal said the fire was extinguished in three hours with the help of a team of armed police persons and a fire engine of Chaudandi Municipality. Even the locals worked actively to contain the fire.
