Minister Shrestha inspects project activities
Kathmandu : Minister for Urban Development Krishna Gopal Shrestha had an onsite visit to various development projects going on in Jhapa district on Monday.
Minister Shrestha inspected the ongoing construction of view tower, assembly hall and a bus park at Damak and the projects completed at Gauradaha and Gaurigunj.
He garnered information about the view tower being built at Damak-3. He said it would be the first mega tower of country in terms of investment and significance. Nearly 30 percent works have completed for the commercial view tower, according to the municipality.
The federal government has allocated Rs 400 million for the construction of the view tower. It is expected that there will have investment of more than 1.5 billion in this mega construction.
A Chinese and a Nepali company have been contracted for the construction. The local people donated five bighas of land for the project. The view tower will have 25 stories.
Deputy Mayor at Damak Municipality Gita Adhikari hoped the completion of the view tower would contribute hugely to the tourism not only in Jhapa but in the country as well.
