Kathmandu : Loss is not always tackled in the gym, it begins with inner enthusiasm. While the pandemic lockdown was chaotic and depressing for everyone, it was a turning point of my life. Balancing both my medical studies and fitness was difficult on a regular basis. The difference between losers, gainers and maintainers during the pandemic, is largely dependent on your mind-set: how you approach a new set of circumstances and cope with the change.

In every Muslim home, the million-dollar question is that what’s the recipe today? Likewise, I too had a bundle of staple food, which led me to gain weight earlier. My first step in this journey was, some research on weight loss and few most inspiring success stories. I started replacing junk-foods with a homemade healthy one.

Also, I made my own strict diet chart, which contained adequate protein and fiber sources. I lost six kilos in 1.5 months, which motivated me to go higher. Besides, I did intermittent fasting, followed insulin spike theory and 32 times chewing formula.

I wasn’t comfortable with extensive workout to begin with, so I chose to stick to walking and climbing stairs. Gradually, I balanced workout routine with cardio and strength training. I was able to lose four more kilos, and then there was no looking back.

Losing weight is never easy and there’s no one tip that’s going to change that but i never felt like giving up. I kept on looking myself in the mirror, and the change pushed me up. Whenever I stepped on the weighing scale, i found it declining. I lost 20 kilograms in 4 and a half months.

So, the battle with extra kilos has never been easy. It takes hardwork and consistent efforts. There are various myth in the market but, what I believe is, its your dedication and determination that matter most. Loosing weight is the biggest achievement of my life.

I feel more confident and happy person than i was before. I will continue this series of healthy habits and make them an integral part of my life. I would like to say that if you have discipline, drive and determination, nothing is impossible!
