Eye camp in Saipal Rural Municipality

Kathmandu : An eye camp began in Saipal Rural Municipality on Saturday. In the camp, 36 persons underwent operation and medication yesterday.

The eye camp was organized jointly by Sudurpaschim State, Tilganga Eye Hospital, Kathmandu, District Hospital, Bajhang and the rural municipality. In addition to the eye check up, various sorts of health services were provided by specialist doctors, said Chief of District Hospital, Dr Sandip Okheda.

Similarly, Saipal Rural Municipality Chairperson Rajendra Dhami informed that the health camp was conducted after many people were suffering various sorts of eye problems.

A team of 40 health workers including specialist doctors reached Saipal to provide the services. As many as 643 senior citizens were found suffering eye diseases.

Till this morning, some 1,400 got health service. As many as 135 were provided eye glasses and 36 underwent eye surgery, according to journalist Basanta Pratap Singh, who is also together among health officials.

A local from Kada village Bam Bahadur Bohara elated happiness, saying, ” Many people received health services in a convenient manner. It saved huge amount and time as well.”

The health camp was inaugurated by Speaker of Sudurpaschim State Assembly, Arjun Bahadur Thapa.
