Chandragiri Municipality reports five COVID-19 causalities and 551 cases
Kathmandu : The biggest municipality in the Bagmati State, Chandragiri Municipality, has recorded five deaths from COVID-19 so far while there are a total of 551 COVID-19 infected persons as of Thursday evening.
Five persons from this Municipality succumbing to the flu-like infection were from ward no 3, 5, 9 and 14.
In the municipality that has a total of 15 wards, ward no 8 has reported the highest cases of infection at 104. According to the Municipality spokesperson, Haribhakta Maharjan, the lowest cases of COVID-19 were reported from ward no 2 of the Municipality at eight.
Altogether 10,000 suspected persons have undergone PCR test till date, informed Maharjan, adding that 343 infected persons have returned home upon recovery.
Similarly, 165 persons were availing treatment at home-isolation while 38 were receiving treatment at various health facilities across the Kathmandu Valley.
The Municipality has converted various community school into quarantine. Over Rs 20 million has been spent for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 in the municipality as well as to treat the infected ones, shared Mayor Ghanashyam Giri.
