1,204 new cases of coronavirus infection witnessed

Kathmandu: The country received 1,204 new cases of coronavirus infection out of 10,333 tests in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said in a daily press briefing this afternoon.
With this, the number of coronavirus infected in the country totaled 62,797.

Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that the number of active case across the country is now 17,129.
On Saturday, a total of 1,447 individuals were discharged from the hospitals after complete recovery. Saying that so far 45,267 individuals got recovered from the virus, Dr Gautam stated the recovery rate of the virus in Nepal is 72 per cent.

Likewise, altogether 9,153 people are in institutional isolation while 9,976 others are in home isolation after the infection. Similarly, a total of 7,735 people are in quarantine facilities across the country.

Dr Gautam added that 179 people are receiving treatment in intensive care unit (ICU) while 35 others are in ventilators. In the past 24 hours, the Kathmandu valley recorded 711 new cases of the coronavirus infection. Of them, 570 are from Kathmandu district, 83 from Bhaktapur and 58 from Lalitpur.

According to Dr Gautam, 11 people lost their lives due to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, recording a total of 401 of deaths.
