Two arrested for rape

Kathmandu: Two people have been arresting on the charge of raping a minor in Baitedi. Arun Saud,31, of Sunarya rural municipality-8 in the district and Bashudev Pant,30, of Godavari municipality-2, Kailali have been arrested for committing the heinous act.

Arjun has been charged of raping a 13-year-old girl from Puchaudi municipality while Basu Dev is accused of helping Arjun commit the crime, according to Police Inspector at the Area Police Office, Patan Gauri Prasad Jaisi. The duo went to see the girl, who was in regular phone conservation with them, in her village and took her to the jungle in Bitthad in Sigas rural municipality and raped her. The incident reportedly took place last Wednesday.

The mother of the girl filed a complaint on Friday. An investigation has been initiated while the duo has been taken into police custody, said DSP of Baitedi Narayan Prasad Adhikari.
Earlier, on September 9, five people including a teacher and civil servant had been arrested on the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl in Sigas rural municipality.
