Pregnant woman dies after falling off cliff in Sindhupalchok

Kathmandu: A pregnant woman has died after falling off a cliff at Jugal rural municipality-5 in the district. Sancha Maya Tamang, 43, of Baramchi Dandathok died on the spot, said the police. Her eight-month old baby in the womb also died.

Tamang’s belly was found burst and the baby was found alive around one-meter distance away. However, the baby breathed its last on the way to Kathmandu, said the ward chairperson Sanat Adhikari.

The incident took place while Tamang was collecting fodder for cattle. A team from the district police office has reached the incident site, said Superintendent of Police Rajan Adhikari.
