COVID-19: 1,736 recover in last 24 hours

Kathmandu. A total of 1,736 people have recovered from Corona Virus in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of recoveries has reached 30, 677, according to information shared at the regular daily press meet of the Ministry of Health and Population. The recovery rate has climbed to 65 per cent as of today.

Meanwhile, 979 new infections were reported in the country including 641 men and 339 women. Of them, 326 were from Kathmandu valley including 293 from Kathmandu, 20 from Lalitpur and 13 from Bhaktapur.

A total of 9,218 samples were tested in various laboratories across the country, said MoHP spokesperson Dr Jageswar Gautam. With this the tally of infection has reached 47,236 in the country.

Of the total 16,259 active cases in the country, 9,066 are undergoing treatment in institutional isolation and 7,190 in home-based isolation. Of them, 171 are undergoing treatment in Intensive Care Unit.


New infection was reported in 45 districts across the country in the past 24 hours. 11 districts have more than 500 active cases while five districts have no active case of Corona Virus. Infection has been rising is cities like Kathmandu, Birgunj, Dhangadi and Butwal, said Dr Gautam.

Likewise, 11 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 300. Four women and seven men died today.
