Three missing in floods

Three people have gone missing after the Kanda river overflooded due to incessant rainfall since last night.

Locals of Bhajani municipality-8, Iswar Shah, Chakra BK and Sakel Chaudhary have gone missing, said District Police Office Spokesperson Prateek Bista.

Meanwhile, Bal Bahadur Chaudhary, Bikki Shahi and Hemant Shahi were successfully rescued from the river. The flood water from the river has inundated 450 households in ward nos. 2, 3, 5 and 8 in the municipality.

As a result, 1,977 people have been displaced. The displaced have been moved to safer locations, police said.
