Rs 4500 to test for coronavirus, report within five hours

With the government permission, the Bid Management is all set to conduct test for coronavirus with reasonable fee. The laboratory set up by the Bid Management is prepared to conduct test from Thursday, according to its proprietor BK Bhandari.

Bhandari informed that his company got permission from the government for RT-PCR test for COVID-19 by taking Rs 4500 as fee. Five automated RNA extraction machines have been installed at the laboratory established at Kupaldole, Lalitpur.

The laboratory has the capacity to test more than 4,000 samples in a day. Similarly, the report is produced in five hours. “I’m happy to join the government’s campaign to conduct coronavirus test rapidly.

Anyone willing to conduct test can visit the lab now,” Bhandari said, adding that it costs Rs 4,500 for an individual to undergo the test. The officials from the Ministry of Health and Population have also visited the laboratory.
