COVID-19: 311 new cases reported

A total of 311 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on Tuesday. In a regular press briefing today, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Jageshwar Gautam, shared that the cases were identified while conducting tests on 5,032 people at 27 different laboratories across the country.

Similarly, a 65-year old man of Bungal Rural Municipality-3 Bajhang has died of COVID-19 infection. An asthma patient, the man had returning home from India recently. With this, the total number of deaths caused by COVID-19 has reached 49 in the country as of today.

Dr Gautam added that 15,331 are in quarantine centres across the country. According to the Ministry, 121 returned home after complete recovery in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of home returnees after recovery has reached 13, 875.

He added that the swabs of people entering Kathmandu valley from three different entry points were being collected.

He added that swab of 955 new entrants from Pharping entry point, 914 from Nagdhunga entry point and 944 from Sanga entry points were collected today.
