133 new cases of coronavirus

A total of 133 individuals have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours. In a regular press briefing on Friday, Spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam said that 3,986 individuals were tested for the virus across the country.

With this, the total number of infected ones reached 18,374 while number of the active cases stands at 5,383. According to Dr Gautam, there are 146 active cases in State No. 1 and 1,901 cases in State No. 2 while the number is 439 in Bagmati, 331 in Gandaki and 354 in State No. 5. Likewise, Karnali State owns 315 active cases and 1,897 in Sudur Paschim State, he shared.

Moreover, 107 coronavirus infected persons got discharged from the hospitals after getting recovery. So far, 12,947 people were discharged from the hospitals. Spokesperson Gautam stated that 19,444 people are still quarantined. Currently, Bhojpur, Panchthar, Sankhuwasabha, Rasuwa, Manang and Mustang districts have not a single active case of the virus.

Meanwhile, an 85-year-old lady of Birgunj died of the COVID-19 while receiving treatment at Narayani Hospital. With this, the number of death caused by the COVID-19 reached 44, Spokesperson Dr Gautam confirmed. The Ministry confirmed that 10 new cases of the virus were spotted in the Kathmandu Valley in the past 24 hours.
