Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said he was aggrieved over the demise of revolutionary leader of Rolpa and former lawmaker Barman Budha.

Issuing a press note, Chairman Dahal remembered Budha as an untiring and unfazed fighter for liberation. “Budha always remained in the forefront of liberation front to end feudalism.

With his demise, Nepal has lost a guardian of liberation movement,” he said, adding, “I pay heartfelt tribute to the inspiring figure Budha.” The NCP Chairman further extended condolence to the bereaved family members. Budha breathed his last during the treatment at Patan Hospital this morning.

Meanwhile, Chairman Dahal expressed deep grief over the demise of Kulchandra Mahato, a liberation fighter from Tharu community and communist leader. Mahato had joined the bandwagon of liberation by quitting the teaching profession.

His demise is a huge loss. Mahato, suffering from cancer, died at Huksikot Rural Municipality in Nawalparasi this morning. He was 68-year-old. —
