156 new cases of COVID-19 recorded on Sunday

A total of 156 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country on Sunday, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwar Gautam said in a daily press briefing. According to Dr Gautam, the new cases were confirmed during the tests on 3,741 individuals at different 27 laboratories across the country.

With this, the total number of infected individuals reached 17,658 in the country. Of the new coronavirus cases, 32 are from Saptari, 25 from Sarlahi, 10 each from Nawalparasi and Bardiya.

Likewise, seven cases were witnessed in Parsa, six each in Kaski, Myagdi and Lamjung and five each in Banke and Dang. Similarly, two each from Lalitpur, Rautahat, Syangja, Rupandehi and Dadeldhura and one each from Sunsari, Bara, Kathmandu, Morang, Makawanpur, Baglung, Parbat, Pyuthan and Salyan.

Dr Gautam added that 58 people returned home after complete recovery in the last 24 hours. The total of home returnees after recovery reached 11,695.

According to the Ministry, eight districts—Bhojpur, Panchthar, Dhankuta, Rasuwa, Manang, Mustang, Humla and Jumla have not a single active case of coronavirus.
