Karnali SA member confirmed positive to Corona Virus

A member of the Karnali State Assembly has been confirmed positive to Corona Virus. The confirmation was made during a RT PCR test carried out of the member, who was about to leave the headquarters Surkhet for the district.

The state assembly member has been put under isolation and contract tracing has already been initiated based on the confirmation, said chief of the Health Division at the Ministry of Social Development, Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari.

Accordingly, the swab samples of all the State government ministers and state assembly members have been collected and sent for testing. The source of the infection on the state assembly member is also being traced, Dr Tiwari said.
