82 more individuals test positive for coronavirus

Coronavirus has been confirmed to 82 more individuals in the last 24 hours. According to the Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population Dr Jageshwor Gautam, those 82 individuals tested positive for the virus were from 25 different labs across the nation.

A total of 3,916 samples were tested in last 24 hours. With this, total number of COVID-19 infected people reached 16,801. Out of 82 new coronavirus infected people, four are from State-1, 20 from State-2, 14 from Bagmati State, 15 from Gandaki State, two in State-5, 21 in Karnali State and six in Sudur Paschim State.

In a regular media briefing, Spokesperson Dr Gautam shared that there are now 23,784 people are in quarantine across the nation. The number of coronavirus infected people staying in isolation is 8,174. A total of 147 people have been discharged after recovery in the last 24 hours. With this, the number of people discharged after recovery has reached 8,589, according to the Ministry.

Similarly, 38 people have lost their lives from coronavirus so far. The increasing number of coronavirus infected people in Kathmandu Valley has made worry at a time when number of COVID-19 infected people is decreasing in other districts, said Director at the Epidemiology and Infectious Disease Control Division, Dr Basudev Pandey.

He further said that COVID-19 was confirmed to three persons while carrying out test of 3,000 people of 12 different places of Kathmandu valley after coronavirus was confirmed on a person having no travel history.

Test should be carried out even in community-level as coronavirus might have been spread in community-level after three persons having no travel history tested positive for coroavirus.
