COVID-19 cases in Bangladesh reaches 175,494 with 3,360 new infections

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bangladesh Thursday reached 175,494 as 3,360 new infections were confirmed in the last 24 hours.

Senior Health Ministry official Nasima Sultana said in a briefing on Thursday afternoon that 3,360 new COVID-19 positive cases and 41 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

“The number of confirmed infections in the country totaled 175,494 while fatalities stood at 2,238,” she said. According to the official, 15,632 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in labs across the country.

She said the total number of recovered patients in the country now stands at 84,544 including 3,706 on Thursday. Bangladesh recorded the highest 4,019 cases in a 24-hour period on July 2 and the highest 64 daily deaths on June 30.
