A total of 16,294 Nepalis have so far been brought to home from various 21 countries via air route.

The migrant workers were stranded in different countries due to COVID-19 lockdown. According to CCMC, of all returnees, 5,358 (largest number) are from Bagmati State while 394 (least number) from Sudurpaschim State.

The government took the decision to rescue stranded Nepalis by chartering the air flights after they appealed for managing their home return in the wake of pandemic.

The new returnees are kept in holding centres. After the health checkup, they are sent to quarantines of the respective States.
