Jumla on high alert against COVID-19

High alert has been maintained in Jumla district following COVID-19 risks. A man of Aathbis municipality-1 in Dailekh district came out with the infection.

Dailekh shares border with Surkhet, the capital of Karnali State. All eight local levels in the district have been on high alert against the infection, said Ratan Nath Yogi, chair of Tila rural municipality. Setting up of a quarantine area at Karnali Technical School is underway, he said.

Infected people and suspected ones visiting the district from outside will be kept in the quarantine area, he said, adding that 29 people, who entered Nepal through Rupaidiya transit on May 16 will be kept at the district level integrated quarantine area there under the supervision of Nepalese Army.

Doctors from Karnali Academy of Health Sciences will also be managed at the quarantine area, said Krishna Sapkota, chief of the district public health office. Meanwhile, Chandannath municipality and Guthichaur rural municipality distributed Rs 3.5 million worth of relief materials like rice, pulse, salt, cooking oil and soap bars to 4,000 families affected by nationwide lockdown.
