India provides PCR testing kits to Nepal

The Government of India has provided PCR kits to Nepal. India’s ambassador to Nepal, Vinay Mohan Kwatra today called on Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and handed over 3,000 kits to the latter.

On the occasion, in his brief statement, the Indian ambassador though assistance gifted by the Government of India and people there was smaller in quantity, it would obviously be a bit help in promoting the testing coverage in Nepal.

The Minister acknowledged the medical assistance by India during the crisis. Prior to this, India had donated 23 tonnes of medicines to Nepal to face the common health challenge caused by COVID-19.

The Prime Minister of India in March through a video conference pledged assistance to the SAARC nations to fight the virus.
