Throat and nasal swabs collected from 265 persons including 7 journalists

As people tested positive for coronavirus in Kapilvastu district is increasing lately, throat and nasal swabs of 265 individuals including seven journalists were collected and sent to Public Health Laboratory of Province No. 5 in Bhairahawa on Friday.

According to District Health Office, 110 nasal and throat specimens were collected in Kapilvastu Hospital, 105 in Maharajgunj Municipality and 50 in Bijayanagar Rural Municipality. Similarly, District Chairman of Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kapilbastu, Dilaram Bhusal, shared that seven journalists would be tested PCR in Sisawa Health Post.

Journalists stationed near the highway, district headquarters Taulihawa and Krishnanagar would be tested. Similarly, swabs of 105 individuals including Kapilvastu Hospital’s officials, and police and family member of a nurse were collected for the test as a nurse working in the hospital was tested positive for coronavirus four days ago.

Those 50 individuals in Bijayanagar Rural Municipality were returning from different Indian cities and now are in quarantine for over a week.
