Stay home order in Bhaktapur

The Bhaktapur district administration has decided to limit people inside their homes after two people were found infected with Corona Virus in the district.

A woman coming from Sunsari and a man from Ramechhap had tested positive to the Virus on Tuesday. A decision to this end was taken by the District Natural Disaster Management Committee that met today under the chair of District Coordination Committee Chief Nawaraj Gelal.

The decision is to strictly enforce the lockdown order to stop the virus from spreading further. Hence, nobody will be allowed to leave their homes unless for emergency work, Chief District Officer Hum Kala Pandey said. All vehicle pass and permit issued earlier are hereby annulled. All industry and businesses except essential goods will be shut down while travelling to and from Bhaktapur shall be restricted.

The local level and stakeholders shall manage the supply of food and other essentials to people’s home while relief support shall be provided to the poor and destitute. Contact tracing for the two infected has begun and all those required will the tested, CDO Pandey said.
