No new infection case on Sunday: Health Ministry

Kathmandu. No new coronavirus infection case has been detected in Nepal on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Scope of tests through polymerase chain reaction across the country has been increased, said the Ministry’s Spokesperson, Dr Bikash Devkota at a regular press conference organised here on Sunday by the Ministry.

The total 73,555 suspected people across the country were tested for the infection (56,657 through rapid diagnostic test and 16,898 through PCR) with additional 1316 in 24 hours, he said. Thirteen thousand six hundred twenty five suspected people have been quarantined across the country and 164 kept in isolation.

Three hundred forty suspected have been put in red zone until Saturday with none on Sunday. Coronavirus infection across the country has reached 110. Of the, 31 were discharged from hospitals after being cured, said Dr Devkota.
