Man beats wife to death in Banke

A woman who was severely injured after being beaten by her spouse here on Sunday died today.

The victim has been identified as Dilamaya Magar of Baijanath rural municipality-2, Naubasta in Banke. Her husband Balsingh Magar is accused of physically assaulting her over a family dispute.

The woman was taken to the Kohalpur Teaching Hospital only this morning and she breathed her last just after a moment of her arrival, the Area Police Office , Kohalpur confirmed.

In the preliminary investigation it is learnt that the man was under alcoholic influence at the time he assaulted his wife. On a minor family dispute, he pushed the wife towards a house wall which resulted in the injury to her head.

For three days, she was left to suffer the pain. Had she got the timely treatment, her life could have been saved, it is said. The Area Police Office, Kohalpur has taken the accused under its control.
