PM Oli gets stent removed

Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli has had the stent placed in his abdomen removed at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Sunday.

Dr Uttam Kumar Sharma, who was involved in the surgery for Oli’s second kidney transplant, confirmed with Setopati that the stent was removed when Oli went to the hospital for follow-up Sunday.

“Other parameters of him are also normal. But he should not exert himself too much,” Dr Sharma stated. “I said PM should not hold long meetings and he smiled.”

Oli, who had reached the hospital at around 10:30 in the morning, returned to Baluwatar at around three in the afternoon after the procedure.

He is scheduled to participate in the video conferencing of SAARC leaders to confront coronavirus epidemic on proposal of Indian PM Narendra Modi later on the day.
