CPN (ML) gen secy Mainali injured in road mishap

General Secretary of the CPN (ML) CP Mainali and some other members of his family were injured in a road accident at Bardibas Municipality-3 of Mahottari district this afternoon.

The accident took place when a car (Ba 7 Cha 2120) Mainali was travelling collided with a pick-up van (Na 4 Cha 8668) at Kalapani of Bardibas Municipality-3, according to the Area Police Office, Bardibas. The car travelling by Mainali was heading towards Kathmandu from Jhapa. Similarly, Manali’s son Saroj, daughter-in-law Puja Dhungana, grandson and car driver Ram Prasad Poudel were also injured in the accident, said Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajan Chapagain.

All the injured have been airlifted to Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi, Kathmandu from Nepal Army’s chopper. A police team had rescued all of them and taken to Janasewa Hospital soon after getting the information about the accident.

Of the injured, leader Mainali and Puja have sustained deep injuries, said doctors at Janasewa Hospital, Bardibas.
